Only 2 Days In Cell, Prisoner In Bengkulu Dies In Detention Center

BENGKULU - The prisoner who had only been in the Malabero Class II B Bengkulu Detention Center for 2 days with the initials HL (73) was found dead.

Head of the Malabero Class II B Bengkulu Detention Center Farizal Antony said the prisoner died of illness.

"The news was discovered on Saturday morning when the prison officials were about to wake the detainees for the morning rally," said Farizal as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, August 13.

However, the detainee did not respond so the officers checked the person concerned. The prisoner was then taken to the Bengkulu City Bhayangkara Hospital.

When examined by officers at the hospital, the prisoner HL was declared dead.

The prisoner had a history of heart disease and kidney failure. Before being declared dead, HL did not complain of his illness.

The detainee is in the Bengkulu Rutan entangled in the case of falsifying documents for the SUTET project at Pulau Baai Harbor, Bengkulu City.

Currently, the detainee's body is in the Bhayangkara Hospital while waiting for the arrival of the detainee's family in Jakarta.
