JAKARTA - Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto greets the media crew inside the Rapimnas arena at SICC Bogor, West Java, Friday, August 12. Prabowo referred to journalists as friends.

At first, Prabowo was greeting the heads of the Gerindra DPD-DPD throughout Indonesia. Suddenly, an aide to Prabowo handed a piece of paper to the Minister of Defense. Prabowo then read the contents of the 'little letter'.

"I was reminded, 'Sir, there are journalists in this room,'" Prabowo said.

Prabowo also questioned the message.

"Why are there journalists? We are friends," he said.

Prabowo's statement was immediately met with thunderous applause from the cadres.
