Raja Ampat Asks Government To Build Tourism Infrastructure, Especially Clean Water
WEST PAPUA - The Raja Ampat district government, West Papua Province, hopes for infrastructure assistance for tourist destinations from the ministry, especially for clean water.
"Raja Ampat is included in the National Tourism Destination Master Plan (RIDPN), of course, the central government's intervention is very large in the development of local tourism infrastructure," said Head of the Raja Ampat Tourism Office, Ellen Risamasu in the second discussion forum of the Raja Ampat National Tourism Destinations Master Plan, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, August 10.
Clean water which has been an obstacle for tourism in the archipelago.
"Tourism destinations in Raja Ampat are located on islands where there are no fresh water sources and so far people have been using brackish water," he said.
Therefore, the solution is infrastructure development in tourist destinations in Raja Ampat by the relevant ministries. Priority should be given to the means of processing seawater into clean fresh water.
"We hope that this will help the community's clean water needs, especially tourism business actors in the tourist destinations of the Raja Ampat islands," he said.
He supports the Raja Ampat National Tourism Destinations Master Plan as a high-quality destination instead of mass and cheap tourism.
"All that so that Raja Ampat tourism development is conservation and community-based tourism," added Ellen.
