Judging Not Cooperative, Possibly LPSK Cancel Application For Protection To Wife Of Inspector General Sambo, Putri Candrawati
JAKARTA - The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) said that the wife of Inspector General Ferdy Sambo, Putri Candrawathi, was less cooperative in providing information to the agency.
"The LPSK feels that this woman is not very cooperative," said LPSK Chairman Hasto Atmojo Suroyo when contacted in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, August 10.
Hasto said LPSK had twice met directly with Putri to conduct assessments and investigations related to the case of Brigadier J's death. However, from the two meetings, Putri did not provide any information to LPSK.
Therefore, if Putri Candrawati remains uncooperative, it is very likely that LPSK will cancel the protection application that she had submitted some time ago.
Hasto said if the LPSK rejected the application for protection later and at any time the person concerned wanted to re-apply for protection, then this would be possible.
"If, for example, Ms. P (Princess Candrawati) feels that she still needs protection, she can apply again," said Hasto.
Separately, the Indonesian National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) requested support from Komnas Perempuan for an investigation and deepening in investigating cases of alleged sexual violence that befell the wife of Inspector General of Police Ferdy Sambo.
"We ask for Komnas Perempuan's willingness to help and support the investigation process in uncovering this issue," said Komnas HAM chairman Ahmad Taufan Damanik.
Taufan emphasized the involvement and support of Komnas Perempuan in order to prioritize human rights standards, human rights norms, and sensitivity to victims so that they can be met.
