Up To 2 Times Remind Police Not To Cover Up Brigadier J's Death Case, Jokowi: Open As It Is, Transparent!
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo once again highlighted the case of the death of Nopryansah Yosua Hutabarat alias Brigadier J. Ahead of the announcement of new suspects related to handling this case, Jokowi emphasized that the investigation was carried out transparently.
"From the beginning I said, investigate thoroughly, don't hesitate, don't cover up anything, reveal the truth as it is," Jokowi said in Mempawah Regency, quoted from the Presidential Secretariat YouTube, Tuesday, July 9.
According to Jokowi, the public now sees the good and bad image of the Police from this bloody case involving members of the police. Jokowi does not want the image of the police to be bad in the eyes of the public.
"Don't let the public trust the Police. That's the most important thing. We still have to protect the image of the Police," he said.
Previously, Jokoei had also ordered the Bhayangkara Corps, led by the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, to be transparent in an effort to thoroughly investigate the investigation into the police shooting case at the house of the inactive Head of the Propam Police Division, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.
"I've already said, investigate thoroughly, open it as it is. Don't hide anything, be transparent. It's done!" Jokowi stressed on the sidelines of his working visit to Rinca Island, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Thursday, July 21.
Jokowi said transparency is very important in the investigation of the shooting that killed Brigadier J, so that there is no public doubt about the police institution.
"This must be maintained. Public trust in the Police must be maintained," he added.
As is known, the National Police will announce a new suspect in the case of the death of Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat alias Brigadier J at the National Police Headquarters on Tuesday 9 August afternoon.
"God willing, this afternoon, yes (announcing the suspect)," said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Pol. Dedi Prasetyo when confirmed, Tuesday, August 9 morning.
He said the announcement of the third suspect would be officially conveyed by the National Police Chief Gen. Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo at the National Police Headquarters.
The two-star general said that the announcement was planned for 16.00 WIB.
"(Announced) at 16.00 WIB," said Dedi.
In this case, the Investigation Team of the Special Criminal Investigation Team of the National Police has named two suspects in the murder case of Brigadier J in Duren Tiga, South Jakarta.
The first suspect named on Wednesday 3 August was Bhayangkara Two Polri Richard Eliezer Pudihang Lumiu or Bharada E, charged with Article 338 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 and Article 56 of the Criminal Code.
The second suspect, Brigadier Ricky Rizal or Brigadier RR, was detained on Sunday 7 August. He was charged with Article 340 of the Criminal Code regarding premeditated murder in conjunction with Article 338 jo. Article 55 and Article 56 of the Criminal Code.
This case, which was previously reported as a shooting incident, turned into a murder incident after Bharada E changed his testimony and volunteered as a justice collaborator to the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK).
In this case, based on the Antara report, the National Police also questioned 25 members of the National Police for violating the procedure for handling the crime scene (TKP).
Four of them were secured in a special place at the Mobile Brigade Headquarters for intensive examination, one of which was Inspector General of Police Ferdy Sambo, former Head of the National Police's Profession and Security Division (Kadiv Propam).
