Strange But Real: His Club Forbids Celebrations From Home, This African Player Is Replaced By His Brother At The Altar
JAKARTA - Mohamed Buya Turay planned his wedding at the end of July 2022. However, at the same time, he was recruited by Malmo FF and the Swedish club did not allow him to go to celebrate the special day.
Turay's wedding ceremony scheduled for July 21 in his native Sierra Leone was overshadowed by his transfer from China's Henan Songshan Longmen to Malmo.
Turay, of course, couldn't be in both places at the same time. To that end, he asked his brother to take his place and met his girlfriend Suad Baydoun at the altar.
"We are getting married on July 21 in Sierra Leone. But I couldn't be there because Malmö asked me to come early," the striker told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet.
It doesn't end there. The controversial footballer took some photos with his wife before traveling to Sweden. The photo has been circulating on social media.
"We took photos beforehand, so it seemed like I was there, but I wasn't there. My sister represented me at the wedding ceremony," Turay revealed.
Now, Turay still has to wait to be reunited with his wife, even though they are already planning to travel before the end of the year.
"I will try to take him to Sweden and Malmö now so that he will be close to me. He will stay here with me. First, we will win the league, and then I will go on my honeymoon," he added.
