Mazda CX-7 Car Scorched On Fire In Palembang, The Owner Is Sincere And Grateful That His Wife And Children Are Safe

PALEMBANG - A sports car exploded on Jalan Demang Lebar Daun, Ilir Barat I District, Palembang City, South Sumatra, causing a traffic jam for about two kilometers, Monday, August 8 this afternoon.

At that location, all parts of the white Mazda CX-7 sports car with the license plate number D--1584--DX were scorched by fire at around 15.00 WIB.

Victim Oscar (45), a resident of Jalan Bank Raya, Lorok Pakjo, said he and his wife and children left the house by car to have lunch at a restaurant near the scene.

Then suddenly on the way there was a strong enough explosion on the right front tire of the car he was driving, causing the fire to erupt violently.

"I don't know why, until on the way there was an explosion with a loud enough sound, so the fire broke out, then we immediately got out of the car and rescued ourselves with the help of residents," he said as quoted by Antara.

He stated that although he suffered a loss of up to Rp. 850 million for the price of the car, it was not a problem. "I consider this a lucky accident, our family survived and there were no other victims," he added.

After a while after the incident, Ilir Barat 1 Sector Police officers and the Pos Merdeka Fire Department arrived to provide assistance.

One unit of the Pos Merdeka fire truck immediately moved to extinguish the fire of the car explosion belonging to the victim Oscar upon arrival at the location, until the fire was successfully extinguished at around 15.50 WIB.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Ilir Barat 1 Palembang Police Iptu Apriansyah said there were no fatalities or injuries in the car explosion. Then, he said, the carcass would be evacuated using a tow truck from the Palembang City Transportation Service.

He ensured that officers were still on standby at the location to regulate the flow of traffic from Jalan Bukit Besar - Jalan Palemeswara to normal because there was a delay because the car wreck was right on the road.
