Frost In 3 Villages In Lanny Jaya Regency, Papua, BPBD Says No Residents Refuge, Basic Materials Available

PAPUA - The Papuan Provincial Government through the local Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) stated that currently there are no refugees in Lanny Jaya Regency due to the frost phenomenon. For basic needs are also available.

Head of BPBD Papua William Manderi said his party had provided assistance to the location, as well as the Social Service and the Ministry of Social Affairs.

According to William, his party has formed a quick reaction team to review the steps taken to deal with the frost phenomenon in three villages, namely Kuyawage, Lauren and Jugu Nomba.

He explained that until now, based on data received as many as 548 affected residents, three people died.

"Based on the information we received from the Secretary of BPBD, residents who died due to illness," he said in Jayapura, Antara, Wednesday, August 3.

He added that his party is now continuing to communicate with officers in the area including the steps that have been taken by the local government and the damage or loss.
