Truck Hits Motorcycle At Red Light Lieutenant Harun Tasikmalaya, One Person Dies
TASIKMALAYA - A road user died as a result of a truck crashing into a number of motorcycles while stopping at a red light intersection on Jalan Letnan Harun, Tasikmalaya City, West Java.
Tasikmalaya City Police Traffic Head AKP Anaga Budiharso confirmed that a truck that failed to brake then hit two motorized vehicles and a cyclist who were stopped at a red light in the Ran branch area, Tasikmalaya City.
"As a result of the incident, both motorcycles and wind bikes were damaged, while the wind cyclist died at the scene," Anaga said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 2.
He said that the incident began when the Mitsubishi Fuso truck with license plate number Z 8456 LF driven by Asep Saepudin (32) a resident of Tasikmalaya was driving from Jalan Lieutenant Harun to Jalan Bantar when braking failed at the scene at around 11.00 WIB.
The speed of the truck, he said, was out of control and then headed to the left of the road until it finally hit a motorcycle in front of him.
"It is suspected that the Mitsubishi Fuso vehicle failed in braking so it collided with a wind bike and two other motorcycles," he said.
Anaga conveyed that the location of the collision, which was close to the Rancepato Police Post, immediately received treatment and evacuated the victims involved in the collision.
The deceased victim was identified, namely Chandra (62) a resident of Jalan Paseh, Tugujaya Village, Cihideung District, Tasikmalaya City.
Furthermore, the police have processed the crime scene by collecting evidence of the vehicles involved in the collision, asking for witness statements, and securing the truck driver.
"The actions taken were evacuating victims, visiting the crime scene and processing the crime scene, recording identities and interrogating witnesses, securing evidence," he said.
