Ganjar Reveals 10 Para Games Athletes Positive For COVID-19 Isolated, 1 Still In Semarang Hospital
CENTRAL CITY - Central Java (Central Java) Governor Ganjar Pranowo said the 2022 ASEAN Para Games athletes who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 were isolated at the office of the Regional Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMD) of Central Java Province.
"Yesterday, we detected the reports that came in earlier, ten of them have been isolated at the BPSDMD office," said Ganjar in Semarang, Central Java, Tuesday, August 2.
According to Ganjar, from the initial report he received, it was stated that a number of athletes who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 had received treatment at a hospital in Semarang City, and until now one person is still being treated.
"Last week it was reported to me that out of the eleven athletes who were affected, currently being treated at the Semarang Regional Hospital, only one person remains, the remaining ten people are being isolated in the province because their condition is actually improving," he said.
Related to this, the number one person in Central Java asked the health team from the city of Semarang to continue to monitor and monitor the condition of the athletes of the 2022 ASEAN Para Games.
"That's the overall condition, he said yesterday it had improved, just the last inspection," he said.
The PDI-P politician revealed that the initial indications that the athletes were exposed were unknown, but it was possible that the athletes were exposed to COVID-19 on their way to Indonesia.
"Because of this, some of them are foreigners, maybe at the time they made the trip, but they are still being monitored," he said.
This condition, Ganjar continued, does not affect the course of the 2022 ASEAN Para Games because the rules are quite strict and require athletes who are exposed to COVID-19 to be isolated.
