The House Of The Head Of The BPBD Prevention Division In Manokwari, West Papua, Caught Fire
MANOKWARI - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Papua Province distributed aid to BPBD employees whose houses burned down today.
West Papua BPBD Head Derek Ampnir said assistance in the form of clothing, food and mats was given to the family of the West Papua BPBD Head of Prevention and Preparedness Jordan B Komnaris, who was facing a fire accident.
"We mainly give clothes because everywhere when the fire burns things. So we try to wear clothes and food needs," said Derek in Manokwari, Antara, Tuesday, August 2.
The victim's family is currently evacuating to a temporary building while the house is being repaired. Jordan's victim said the fire broke out when the family commemorated the 40th anniversary of the mother's death.
Four water tankers were deployed to extinguish the fire that covered the Jordan family's home. Members of the TNI, Polri, BPBD, and youth organizations together with residents extinguished the fire in the house.
"Usually we Christians burn candles in front of the photo. Whether that's the reason or there is another reason, we don't know ourselves. The Manokwari Police have also come to take information," said Jordan.
He appreciated BPBD and those who helped extinguish the fire in his house and provided assistance to his family.
