BPBD: 1,459 Residents Affected By Flash Floods In Parigi Moutong, Central Sulawesi
PARIGI MOUTONG - Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Parigi Moutong Regency, Central Sulawesi recorded 1,459 people from 472 Heads of Families (KK) affected by flash floods in Torue Village.
"This data is still temporary, because the team is still collecting data in the field," said Head of BPBD Parigi Moutong Idran when met in Torue, Parigi Moutong, Antara, Monday, August 1.
He explained that the data presented on the information board is a combination of data collected by BPBD and a number of volunteers, in order to facilitate the response during the emergency response period.
The data presented is periodically evaluated and updated in order to obtain valid data which will then be used as master data for further handling interventions.
"The government continues to take countermeasures, because of the emergency situation, the fulfillment of the basic needs of victims is prioritized," said Idran.
From the flash flood disaster, it was recorded that four hamlets were affected, namely Hamlet one, 81 people or 26 families, consisting of 11 elderly citizens (elderly), 5 children under five and 1 pregnant woman, as well as 18 affected houses and 1 of them was heavily damaged.
Then, 400 people or 120 families were affected in Hamlet 2 consisting of 40 elderly people, 62 toddlers, 13 pregnant women, 2 people with disabilities and 9 units of drifting houses, while the damaged houses were still being collected.
In Hamlet 3 affected 480 people or 160 families consisting of 60 elderly people, 41 children under five, 6 pregnant women. Hamlet 5 was affected by 498 people or 160 families consisting of 56 elderly people, 51 toddlers and 6 pregnant women.
"Houses with heavy, moderate and light damage are still being collected. Currently, the joint SAR team is still searching for the four missing victims," said Idran.
He stated that in disaster management efforts, the Parigi Moutong Regency Government was supported by 170 humanitarian volunteers from various institutions and organizations.
"Approximately 336 people of Torue Village still survive in the evacuation post. Clean water is also not maximized so it is still an urgent need, besides that other needs for fast food, clothes, blankets, and baby equipment are still an urgent need," said Idran.
