Presidential Staff Office Convinced That The Job Creation Act Can Accelerate MSME Growth

JAKARTA - The Presidential Staff Office appreciates the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs for their good work in accelerating the growth of SMEs in Indonesia.

The Head of the Monitoring and Evaluation Team (Monev) of the Employment Creation Act (UUCK) of the Presidential Staff Office, Edy Priyono, assessed that the Kemenkop UKM had succeeded in encouraging the implementation of PP No. 7/2021 on the Ease, Protection and Empowerment of Cooperatives and MSMEs, which is one of the derivative regulations of the Law. – Job Creation Act (UUCK).

"This is proof that the implementation of UUCK continues, apart from the formal process improvements that are also ongoing," said Edy, in Jakarta, Saturday (30/7).

Edy said, the implementation of the Job Creation Act through PP No 7/2021 has provided great support to MSMEs from various aspects, from upstream to downstream. Such as capital, licensing, facilitation of certification, to marketing and partnerships.

From the licensing aspect, for example, Edy said, the government has facilitated at least 1.3 million micro/small businesses to obtain a Business Identification Number (NIB) through a risk-based online licensing service system (OSS RBA), which was developed by the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM). .

Edy, who is also the Main Expert at the Presidential Staff Office, added that through UUCK, MSME actors also received counseling and legal assistance. This is evidenced by legal counseling activities for micro-enterprises in 15 provinces and attended by 600 micro/small business actors. "Kemenkop UKM also provides legal assistance to 18 micro-enterprises by advocates and LBH," he explained.

In relation to the mandate of PP No 7/2021 regarding the provision of promotional space facilities for MSMEs in public infrastructure, Edy explained, the Kemenkop UKM has encouraged micro/small business partnerships with terminal managers through a plan to sign an MoU with the Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of PUPR, and Ministry of SOEs.

"Currently, the provision of MSME promotions in various public facilities has reached 30 percent," he added.

On that occasion, Edy also mentioned the performance of the SME Ministry of Cooperatives related to the acceleration of a single MSME database. Where as of the end of June 2022, data collection has been carried out on 857,281 MSME actors from 226 regencies/cities from 33 provinces.

Meanwhile, regarding improving the competence of MSME actors, the government proactively provides training on various topics. Such as vocational, e-commerce, financial management, and competency-based training for micro-enterprises.

"Until July 2022, 1,110 business players have participated in these trainings," concluded Edy.
