Denpasar Disdikpora Temporarily Stops PTM SDN 28 Dangin Puri Due To COVID-19

DENPASAR - The Department of Education, Youth and Sports (Disdikpora) of Denpasar City, Bali, has suspended face-to-face learning (PTM) at SDN 28 Dangin Puri for 14 days due to a positive case of COVID-19 at the school.

"Yes, that's right, the school principal reported directly that there were students who tested positive for COVID-19. According to the rules, if there was a case, PTM was suspended for 14 days," said Head of the Denpasar City Disdikpora Elementary School Development Division, I Nyoman Suryawan, as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 29.

Suryawan said the PTM process at SDN 28 Dangin Puri was changed to being online again for 405 students until August 7, 2022.

The change in the full learning system to online was also chosen because there were two students who were detected by COVID-19 and came from different classes.

"Actually, it depends on the students in the class that we change the system to, while this is the contact because the SDN 28 is in a different class," said Suryawan to the media.

Meanwhile, the school said that SDN 28 Dangin Puri finally terminated PTM because two students who were younger siblings were confirmed positive for COVID-19.

"There were two of our students who were exposed to COVID-19 from the results of the rapid antigen test on July 25. Then on the 26th they were in the hospital and on the 27th they were out of the hospital and continued with self-isolation," said Head of SDN 28 Dangin Puri Ni Putu Wiwik Kusuma Dewi .

Wiwik said that one student who tested positive had no symptoms of illness, but the other was sick but forced to stay in school.

"So his parents were picked up at 11 pm and taken to the hospital for a COVID-19 test. We got news that the two children were positive for COVID-19 around 12 noon and immediately reported to Denpasar City Disdikpora," said the principal.
