Ousmane Dembele Who Now Makes Barcelona Coach Xavi Bloom: He's Different, Special
JAKARTA - Barcelona coach, Xavi Hernandez, said he was happy with Ousmane Dembele's appearance on the pre-season tour. Especially when the French player scored two goals during the Blaugrana's 2-2 draw with Juventus, last Tuesday.
Dembele does show a graph of performance that continues to improve. Had dimmed after coming from Borussia Dortmund due to frequent injuries, Dembele seemed to have bounced back since Xavi took over Barcelona.
During eight months in charge of the former Al Sadd coach, Dembele was able to show the extraordinary ability he had shown at Dortmund.
"He has shown his ability. He is different, special. There are not many of this type," Xavi said as reported by Reuters via Antara.
Xavi said Dembele had a big influence on Barcelona's game. According to him, not many players like that.
"Not everyone has the ability to make a difference in world football and he has that. He is involved and shows it," said Xavi.
"I didn't know Dembele from before November. I'm very happy with the current one," continued the former Barcelona player.
Dembele's good performance is expected to continue into the real competition, namely the Spanish La Liga. In the first match, Barcelona will face Rayo Vallecano at Camp Nou on 13 August.
