Odong-odong Driver Who Killed 9 Passengers Apparently Did Not Have A SIM And Played Loud Music, Shouted That The Train Did Not Hear
SERANG - After undergoing an examination, finally the odong-odong driver with the initials JL (27) became a suspect in a train accident that resulted in 9 deaths in Silebu Village, Serang Regency, Tuesday, July 26, afternoon.
The suspect JL is known to not have a SIM A in driving a four-wheeled vehicle so he can be qualified to be incapable of driving.
While the odong-odong vehicle driven by JL is a modification of the 2010 Isuzu Panther vehicle with Nopol B 1156 WTX.
"According to vehicle identification, it is known that the odong-odong vehicle is a modification of the Isuzu Panther vehicle, a former public transportation vehicle, which the suspect bought for Rp. 80 million in July 2022," said Shinto.
"According to the evidence that has been collected, investigators have conducted a case and named JL, a resident of Sentul, Kragilan as suspects," said Head of Public Relations of the Banten Police, Kombes Shinto Silotga, Wednesday, July 27.
Shinto said, when carrying dozens of passengers in the odong-odong car, JL also played music in a loud voice.
"Residents around the scene as well as passengers have warned the driver that a train is about to pass with a loud voice, but they cannot be heard because of the noise," he said.
For his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 310 paragraphs 2, 3 and 4 of Law no. 22 of 2009 concerning negligence in driving which is the result of an accident until people die and are injured, with a criminal penalty of 6 years and a maximum fine of Rp. 12 million.
