Police Have Difficulty Uncovering The Murder Case Of Pastor Yeremia In Intan Jaya, Papua

JAKARTA - The police are having difficulty uncovering the cause of the death of Pastor Yeremia Zanambani in Hitadipa District, Intan Jaya Regency, Papua. The reason was that the family refused Jeremiah's body to be autopsy.

"It turns out that the last information we got from the family refused to carry out an autopsy," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, to reporters, Wednesday, November 11.

In fact, the autopsy process of Pastor Jeremiah's body was called the Police, which is very important in the investigation and investigation process. Not only to find out the cause of death from the autopsy results, it can also reveal the perpetrator behind the case.

"This is the problem in the investigation process. How do we determine his death if there is no autopsy," said Awi.

"Until now, we don't know if we are talking about the cause of death concerned? We have to prove it and the expert must prove it was because he was shot or what, that must be resolved," he continued.

Therefore, in the near future representatives from the Papua Police will meet with the Regent of Intan Jaya. The goal is to negotiate the autopsy process.

If later the negotiations are successful and the family allows Pastor Jeremiah's body to be autopsied, the investigator will immediately move on. Later, Pastor Jeremiah's body will be flown immediately to Mimika.

"RS Bhayangkara Makassar hopes for the autopsy in Mimika. It must be flown to Mimika. Because if it is done at the TKP it is not conducive," he said.

Pastor Yeremia's death last September with a gunshot wound to his body caused a polemic due to disagreements between the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) and the TNI.

KKB accused the TNI of making Jeremiah die with a gunshot wound to his body. Meanwhile, the TNI actually called KKB responsible for the incident.
