No Need To Go Wild! CFW Visitors Who Park Haphazardly Are Asked To Pay Rp. 10 Thousand To Dukuh Atas Thugs
JAKARTA - The impact of the hustle and bustle of the Citayam Fashion Show (CFW) that took place in the Dukuh Atas area, Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta, has resulted in a number of illegal parking spots controlled by thugs who become illegal parking attendants (Jukir).
The illegal parking rate is stated by motorcyclists at Rp. 10,000 per motorbike.
Although the parking fee is quite expensive, visitors are forced to leave their vehicles in the illegal parking lot on the shoulder of the road because there is no official parking bag prepared by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
"It's very expensive, the fare is IDR 10,000 per motorbike. Even though the parking is on the side of the road," said Riandi, one of the motorbike owners who once left his vehicle in the illegal parking area of Dukuh Atas, Tanah Abang.
Riandi hopes that if the DKI Provincial Government will seriously organize the CFW SCBD trend in Dukuh Atas, it can prepare an official parking bag so that the area is also organized.
"Get ready for official parking, so visitors don't have to be afraid of having their motorbikes transported by Dishub officers because they park in any place," he said.
Confirmed separately, Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Komarudin said the police were still conducting an investigation regarding the rise of illegal parking attendants (jukir) around Dukuh Atas. The existence of illegal parking is the impact of the crowds that occur in the Dukuh Atas area.
"This is a social phenomenon, especially crowds, juvenile delinquency, including crime. We are making various anticipation efforts at the location," said Kombes Kombes Komarudin, Wednesday, July 27.
After controlling illegal parking in the Upper Dukuh area on Tuesday, July 26, yesterday, a group of people claiming to be local residents went on a rampage.
"While there are no (thugs guarding the parking lot) who have been secured. We are still monitoring them. We urge the public not to park illegally," he said.
