General Motors Launches EV Live: Free Virtual Education Service With Experts For EV Enthusiasts

JAKARTA - The multinational automotive company General Motors Company or known as GM introduced EV Live, a program to broaden the knowledge of electric car enthusiasts.

According to data from Cox Automotive, new US EV sales rose 13% to 196,788 units, between April and June 2022. However, according to a Consumer Reports survey, lack of education around battery-electric cars, trucks and SUVs remains a barrier to adoption.

Therefore, EV Live is expected to be able to connect buyers with EV specialists directly through a digital platform. The public can call to inquire about EV-related matters that they want to know directly from a specialist.

GM also hopes to accelerate EV adoption and create a larger market for its new battery-electric models, including the recently launched Chevrolet Blazer SS.

"Overcoming common misconceptions about EVs will accelerate widespread EV adoption," said Hoss Hassani, vice president of GM Ecosystem EV.

With this virtual tour, you can learn more about EV technology from the experts face to face with just your mobile, or desktop, and they will provide real-time answers to your questions.

“EV Live allows us to meet people where they are and have real conversations about electrification. We are selling an EV experience rather than a specific EV," Hassani continued.

EV Live will be broadcast for seven days starting from Monday - Sunday. Here are the current GM EV specialist showtimes:

Monday - Thursday 9 AM – midnight ET (20.00 WIB - midnight) Friday 9 AM – 9 PM ET (20.00 - 08.00 WIB) Saturday - Sunday 11 AM – 7 PM ET (22.00 - 06.00 WIB)
