Charles Leclerc Accident At French GP F1 Brings Max Verstappen Closer To The Title
JAKARTA - Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen won the French GP F1 race, Sunday, July 24. This victory is getting closer to the championship trophy.
The additional perfect points now make Verstappen even more firmly at the top of the standings with 233 points. He is now 63 points adrift of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.
"We're just trying to calm down and get closer. Unfortunately for Charles, I hope he's okay," said Verstappen after the race.
Leclerc failed to add points after an accident at the French GP F1. This accident is quite disappointing.
The reason is, Leclerc was in the lead at that time and did not get pressure from Verstappen. Unfortunately, he had to finish the race faster.
Meanwhile, the third position in the standings is occupied by Sergio Perez. The Red Bull driver now has 163 points after finishing fourth in France.
He is 19 points ahead of Carlos Sainz Jr who is in fourth place. The fifth and sixth places were filled by Mercedes drivers, George Russell (143 points) and Lewis Hamilton (127 points).
