Minister Sandiaga Convinced The Local Game Industry Can Be The Driver Of The Virtual Economy
JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno hopes that the local gaming industry and platform will be able to drive the virtual economy in Indonesia.
This he conveyed on the sidelines of an audience with gaming hub from Indonesia Good Games Guild (GGG), some time ago.
"GGG has a mission to create the largest virtual world economy and is expected to be able to drive Indonesia's virtual economy," said Sandiaga as quoted from a press release on Sunday, July 24.
"GGG's vision and mission are in line with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, which is making a Roadmap for the Local Game Industry, to facilitate local games in Indonesia, so that games from the archipelago can stand more advanced than foreign games," Sandiaga added.
Sandiaga also appreciated the achievement of GGG as an Indonesian start-up that has achieved international achievements. He also conveyed the plan to launch Wonderverse Indonesia - which is a virtual tourism concept - in September 2022.
Meanwhile, GGG, which was founded in 2021, has the goal of creating the largest virtual world economy by sponsoring millions of players or gamers who play to earn (play-to-earn).
Further, invest in games to generate revenue along with in-game assets under the Good Games Guild's Labs (game incubator), and build systems that will enhance the future of gaming and the metaverse.
In addition, GGG provides opportunities for gamers and game makers to grow the digital economy, which is a form of business under the creative economy.
Currently, GGG already has a community of more than 250 thousand people who are members and spread all over the world. There are also scholarships that have reached more than 1,500 active scholarship holders from various GameFi. In addition, GGG has more than 50 GameFi and Metaverse partners.
