JAKARTA - The Ternate Basarnas Search and Rescue Office, North Maluku (Malut) conducted a search for a toddler named Kaila Ismit (4), one of the victims of the sinking of the Cahaya Arafah Motor Ship on Monday, July 18 in the waters of Tokaka, South Halmahera Regency.
Quoting Antara news, Saturday, July 23, Head of the Ternate Basarnas Fathur Rahman in Ternate said that the search for victims continued on the sixth day after the sea accident, by dividing the team into eight SRU (Search and Rescue Units).
The joint SAR team conducted a surface search and dive to the wreck of KM Cahaya Arafah.
In addition, there were two additional fleets involved in the sixth day of the search, namely from the Central Maritime Zone Bakamla and KNP 358 Ships from the Ternate Harbor and Port Authority (KSOP) Office.
The activities of the dive team and search on the surface of the water were carried out from morning to noon, but have not found any victims. The team has also conducted a search inside the wreck, but did not find any victims.
The latest data on the number of victims of the marine accident, a total of 77 people with details of 66 people survived, 10 people were found dead, and one person named Kaila Ismit (4) is still being searched.
