So The Suspect In The Borobudur Stupa Meme Case, Roy Suryo Was Charged With Blasphemy
JAKARTA - Former Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Roy Suryo has been named a suspect in the Borobudur Temple stupa meme case that resembles President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). He was charged with blasphemy.
"The article alleged against Roy Suryo is Article 28 Paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 45 Paragraph 2 of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning ITE," said Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes E. Zulpan to reporters, Friday, July 22.
"Then also Article 156a of the Criminal Code and Article 15 of Law Number 1 of 1946 concerning criminal law regulations," he continued.
Originally, Article 156a of the Criminal Code regulates anyone who intentionally publicly expresses feelings or commits acts of a hostile nature, abuses or desecrates a religion adhered to in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, regarding the decision to be detained or not Roy Suryo, until now can not be sure. The reason is that the telematics expert is still undergoing examination
So far, Zulpan can only confirm the determination of the suspect based on two police reports handled by the Polda Metro Jaya.
"The basis used in this investigation is related to the police report on behalf of the reporter Kurniawan Santoso, then also the police report which was transferred from Bareskrim to Polda Metro Jaya on behalf of the reporter Kevin Wu," said Zulpan.
Previously, Roy Suryo was named a suspect in the meme case of the Borobudur Temple stupa similar to President Joko Wodo (Jokowi). This determination after going through a series of inspection processes repeatedly.
