NTT Ombudsman And Kupang Agricultural Quarantine Center Collaborate On Pressing PMK
KUPANG - The Indonesian Ombudsman Representative of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) together with the Kupang Agricultural Quarantine Center coordinate with each other regarding efforts to prevent the emergence of Mouth and Nail Disease (FMD) which is now attacking livestock in almost all provinces in Indonesia. According to him, there is one thing that is still stagnating at this time, namely the Task Force for Handling Mouth and Nail Diseases through Circular Letter Number 4 of 2022 concerning Traffic Control of Animals Vulnerable to Mouth and Nail Diseases and Animal Products Vulnerable to Mouth and Nail Diseases Based on Zoning. he, apparently allowed the traffic of processed products to and from regencies/cities in NTT, Bali and South Sulawesi for the purpose of domestic and foreign importation. "This makes NTT vulnerable to FMD, because we learn from the disease in African Swine Fever ( ASF) where processed products have the potential to spread foot and mouth disease in cattle," he said, quoted by Antara.
