Search For 9 Victims Of The Sinking Of KM Cahaya Arafah, 2 Foreign Divers Involved In The SAR Team
MALUT - The joint SAR team entered the fourth day of searching for victims of the KM Cahaya Arafah accident in the waters of Tokaka Island, South Halmahera, North Maluku (Malut).
The Nabucco Spice Island Resort, located on Maratua Island, assisted the search for the SAR Team from the second day of the search by sending two foreign professional divers (foreigners).
The divers, named Kurt Gehrig from Germany and Alanah Boddeman from Switzerland, together with divers from Syahbandar Babang, South Halmahera, managed to find a woman's body in the ship's room on Wednesday, July 20 afternoon.
Based on the Antara report, the Coordinator of Nabucco Spice Island Resort, Awaludin, said that today's dive was carried out at the location where KM Cahaya Arafah sank. KN SAR 237 Pandudewanata became the main command post for the rescue team at the site of the sinking. The joint SAR team consisting of members of the Search and Rescue Office (Basarnas) and the National Police/TNI continued the search for victims of the KM Cahaya Arafah accident in the waters of Tokaka Island.
The SAR team includes 20 divers, including Kurt and Alanah, continuing to try to find the nine victims of the KM Cahaya Arafah accident at the KM Cahaya Arafah wreck site.
In addition to deploying KN SAR 237 Pandudewanata as the main command post, the SAR team also involved a number of rubber boats and other ships, including KP Gamalama XXX-3002, KAL Tidore III-14-11, KRI 527 Teluk Wondama, KRI 853 Tatihu, KRI 854 Layar.
Then, KRI 867 Albakora, KNP 358, Kopaska, Indonesian Navy Divers, LCVP KRI 527 Wondama, Searider KRI 527 Wondama, and Sea Rider Pandudewanata.
