Zulhas Reported To Bawaslu After Child Campaigning, PAN: We Explained Many Times, No Violations
JAKARTA - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan was reported to the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) by civil society groups for alleged campaign violations after campaigning for his son while distributing cheap cooking oil.
Responding to the report against the general chairman, DPP PAN confirmed that there were no violations in the cheap market activities in Lampung. However, PAN does not prohibit parties from reporting because it is part of democracy.
"We cannot prohibit, instead we will study the report. Because so far, we have repeatedly explained that there were no violations in PAN activities in Lampung as reported," DPR RI PAN faction chairman Saleh Partaonan Daulay told reporters, Wednesday, 20 July.
Saleh then asked Bawaslu to be careful and careful in handling the report. Because, according to him, the activities that Zulhas carried out were purely on the party's agenda.
Where, the cheap market agenda was routinely held long before Zulhas became the Minister of Trade. Therefore, Saleh said, the accusation of the minister of trade campaigning for children is not true.
"Cheap PANsar activities are activities that have often been carried out before in various regions and regions. Activities in Lampung are the same as previous activities," he said.
"Allegations and accusations like this are not true. Because the presence of Bang Zulhas there is as the general chairman of the party and uses the facilities and financing of the party and party cadres," Saleh explained. these activities are also wrong and far from the truth. The reason is that the activity is basically a social activity.
Saleh said, PAN does program activities that contribute directly to the community. This, he said, was carried out all the time and throughout the period.
"I am worried that if this social activity is deemed wrong, other parties will be prevented from doing the same thing. In fact, almost all parties have social activities like this," said Saleh.
