Illegal Oil Miner In Sarolangun Jambi Arrested By Police
JAMBI - The Jambi Police Special Criminal Investigation Directorate team arrested two illegal oil miners in the Sirik River, Lubuk Napal Village, Pauh District, Sarolangun Regency, Jambi.
Jambi Police Special Criminal Investigation Director Kombes Christian Tory said the arrest was made by the Jambi Regional Police's Tipidter Sub-Directorate Team at around 18.00 WIB after traveling for about two hours.
"The two perpetrators we have arrested are AS (44) and ZL (57) who are scouts (illegal miners)," Christian said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 19.
The enforcement operation was led directly by Kanit 1 Sub-Directorate IV of the Jambi Regional Police's Criminal Investigation Unit, Kompol Sahlan Umagapi. Christian explained that while heading to the location, the team arrested two perpetrators who were carrying out illegal oil mining in two wells.
Both of them have been mining oil in a well owned by a person named Pt in Lubuk Napal Village, Pauh District, since 27 June.
"For one day to produce three drums of petroleum," he added.
The team also secured evidence in the form of two motorbikes, two galvanized pipes, two rope rollers, and two canting pipes.
"We have secured the perpetrators and evidence for further investigation," said Sahlan.
The police continue to explore who is the financier of the illegal oil mining. For this action, the two suspected illegal miners were charged with Law No. 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas.
