Becoming A Voter Candidate In The 2024 Election, Commander General Andika Asks Retired TNI Personnel To Be Recorded

JAKARTA - The TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa has instructed his staff to immediately register personnel who will retire. This is important for data collection of potential voters for the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).

"Immediately collect data and report TNI personnel who will retire at the end of January and early February 2024," said Andika Perkasa as monitored on General TNI Andika Perkasa's YouTube channel in Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, July 19.

Andika explained that the data collection for soldiers who will retire will be submitted or coordinated with the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).

To realize the data collection, he added, the first step is to request data from all forces, including ministries and non-ministerial government agencies (K/L) that oversee the TNI. "So, those who retire at the end of January and early February 2024, I ask for the data," he added.

In organizing the 2024 General Election, he said, the TNI and the General Elections Commission (KPU) have an important role in the success of the five-year democratic party.

The role of the TNI includes supporting the allocation and polling stations (TPS), securing the distribution of ballots, and securing the polls.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Indonesian KPU, Hasyim Asy'ari, said that updating the data of TNI personnel is needed as a requirement for the 2024 Election.

"Data like this will later be submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs so that we can obtain it," said Hasyim.
