Invites The Community To Try The Ease Of Online Citizenship Services, Ministry Of Law And Human Rights Emphasizes Rules For Foreigners To Become Indonesian Citizens To Stay Strict

JAKARTA - The Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) Central Kalimantan (Kalteng) encourages people in the region to take advantage of online citizenship services through the Electronic Citizenship Application System (SAKE).

Head of the Legal and Human Rights Services Division Arfan Faiz Muhlizi said this application supports the acceleration of citizenship and citizenship registration, but does not necessarily facilitate the requirements for foreigners to become Indonesian citizens.

"The terms and conditions for becoming an Indonesian citizen are very strict. SAKE is here to accelerate the registration process for citizenship or citizenship applications," said Arfan in Palangka Raya, South Kalimantan, Tuesday 19 July.

Arfan said this application was developed by the Directorate General of General Legal Administration (AHU). He emphasized that people who want to take advantage of this application must meet all the existing requirements.

If the conditions are met, services can be provided. Otherwise, the service cannot be performed.

Arfan also said that electronic citizenship services can be done online through the AHU citizenship application on the https://ahu.go.id/ page.

Meanwhile, Sub-coordinator of Anlisa and Consideration of State Administration of Citizenship, Directorate General of General Legal Administration, Nurul Istiqomah Condrokirono, said that the flow of citizenship services is based on Article 19 of Law Number 12 of 2006 concerning Citizenship of the Republic of Indonesia.

Foreign citizens who are legally married to Indonesian citizens can obtain Indonesian citizenship. Based on Article 8 of Law Number 12 of 2006 concerning Citizenship of the Republic of Indonesia, namely Citizenship of the Republic of Indonesia can also be obtained through citizenship or pure naturalization.

Then, he continued, granting citizenship to foreigners who have served the Republic of Indonesia or for reasons of state interest is based on Article 20 of Law Number 12 of 2006 concerning Citizenship of the Republic of Indonesia.

Furthermore, the granting of citizenship for children who have not registered for citizenship and for children who have registered but have not chosen citizenship based on Article 3A PP Number 21 of 2022.
