KSAL Makes Sure To Fire Soldiers Who Persecute Juniors To Death
JAKARTA - The Chief of Staff of the Navy (KSAL) Admiral Yudo Margono confirmed that he would process the crime and fire the soldiers who were found to have mistreated juniors to death.
Head of the Naval Information Service (Kadispenal) Admiral TNI Julius Widjojono said KSAL Yudo's decision was related to the death of the rifle company soldier C Battalion 11 Brigif 3 Pasmar 3, Sorong, West Papua, Prada Mar Sandi Darmawan because he was allegedly mistreated by several seniors.
"The perpetrators will be processed by criminal law and fired," said Julius in a statement quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 19.
KSAL Yudo has instructed all unit leaders of the Indonesian Navy to follow up on suspected persecutors to receive strict sanctions.
Julius confirmed the incident of persecution that ended in death which went viral on social media. He explained that the initial incident of the persecution occurred on Thursday (7/7) at the Barracks of the C Battalion Infantry Battalion on March 11th.
At that time, the victim was suspected of stealing an ATM card belonging to a classmate at the Barracks of Company C Battalion on March 11, so that six seniors were persecuted.
Since the beatings and beatings occurred until Friday (15/7), the victim was treated intensively in the C Company Barracks by his seniors. However, due to the deteriorating condition, the victim was taken to the Koarmada III Company Barracks and referred to the Indonesian Navy Hospital (RSAL) dr. Oetojo, Sorong City.
Friday evening, at around 20.00 WIT, Prada Mar Sandi Darmawan was evacuated to the ER RSAL dr. Oetojo Sorong City by using the Pasmar 3 ambulance.
The victim had received medical treatment by the on duty doctor, Ravensca, until he was declared dead on Saturday (16/7) 19.57 WIT. The body of Prada Mar Sandi Darmawan was dispatched by Lion Air plane and handed over to his parents in Bilia'an Hamlet, Montok Village, Pamekasan Regency, East Java.
Meanwhile, the six perpetrators of the persecution are currently being investigated by Pomal Lantamal XIV Sorong.
Previously, on various occasions, Yudo instructed all Indonesian Navy soldiers not to use violence against his juniors. Yudo stressed that he would take firm action against soldiers who were proven to have committed violence against fellow soldiers.
