SKK Migas Ensures Jambaran Tiung Biru Operations End Of June

JAKARTA - Head of SKK Migas Dwi Soetjipto said the Jambaran Tiung Biru gas field will start production at the end of July or early August. Overall, the progress of this project has reached 96.56 percent.

"Jambaran Tiung Biru, God willing, will stream at the end of the month or early August 2022," said Dwi to the media, quoted on Sunday, July 17.

Previously, the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) through the Deputy I for Energy, Investment and Infrastructure encouraged the Jambara–Tiung Biru (JTB) Gas Unitization Field Development project to start production (onstream) in August.

In this way, one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) is expected to immediately meet the increasing energy demand in Java.

"This JTB is projected to be able to meet gas needs on the island of Java, therefore we appreciate PT Pertamina EP Cepu, PT Rekind and SKK Migas who have worked seriously so that in July this can gas in. KSP will continue to encourage JTB to be able to gas onstream in August," said Deputy I KSP, Febry Calvin Tetelepta in a written statement, Thursday, July 14.

Meanwhile, Director General of Oil and Gas Tutuka Ariadji said that the JTB preparation process had entered the final stage, especially ensuring that oil and gas safety standards had been met.

"For the gas, there are still a few things that need to be repaired, ensuring its safety. We will wait for a few more days and hopefully the problem can be resolved and then the gas will be carried out," said Tutuka.

According to Tutuka, currently all oil and gas equipment or installations in the JTB Project have been installed in the field. However, there are still aspects of oil and gas safety that need to be confirmed.

"Regarding safety, it must be ensured and in the oil and gas industry, safety is number one," added Tutuka.

For information, this gas is the initial stage of proving that the equipment and installations are well integrated, as well as their implementation that still pays attention to oil and gas safety.

After the gas in runs smoothly, the next stage is gas on stream.

"After confirming that the equipment is functioning properly, then gas will be on stream. It still takes some time," he said.

The JTB project is projected to be a source of energy to meet the energy needs of the community and industry, as well as electricity, especially in East Java and Central Java.

This field can produce 315 MMSCFD of raw gas and 2700 bcpd of condensate. In addition, there is potential for additional production of up to 20 MMSCFD, so that there is an increase in gas sales production from 172 MMSCFD to 192 MMSCFD.
