Deadline Is Near, Google Ensures Private PSE Registration With Kemenkominfo
JAKARTA – The warning from the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) to the Electronic System Operators (PSE) in the private sphere, both domestic and foreign, to immediately re-register, was responded positively by international communication companies.
Google Indonesia has confirmed that it will register as a private PSE. Bic Tech from the US does not want to be blocked by the Ministry of Communication and Information.
"We are aware of the need to register from the relevant regulations, and will take appropriate action in an effort to comply," said a Google management representative in Indonesia.
This registration aims to meet the statutory requirements. In the regulation of private sector PSE registration, the government does not see whether the company comes from within the country or abroad.
Kominfo confirmed that it would apply the same thing, namely that the electronic system operator had to register with the state. According to Johnny, registration is actually very easy because it is through online single submission, so there is no reason for administrative obstacles.
According to the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Communication and Information, Dedy Permadi, the deadline for registration through the risk-based electronically integrated business licensing system or called the online single submission risk-based approach (OSSRBA) will end on July 20, 2022.
This rule is in accordance with the Circular Letter of the Minister of Communication and Information Technology Number 3 of 2022 concerning the Effective Date of Registration for the Implementation of Private Electronic Systems which was signed on June 14, 2022.
There are two categories in PSE, namely PSE in the public sphere and PSE in the private sphere. PSE in the public sphere is a state agency or state-appointed institution, which provides electronic system services. Meanwhile, private sector PSEs are individuals, entities, or community groups that provide electronic system services.
On June 30, 2022, the Director General of Information Applications at the Ministry of Communications and Informatics Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan said there were 4,634 PSE registered with the Ministry of Communications and Informatics. The PSE includes 4,559 domestic PSE and 75 global PSE.
Until now, the world's Big Techs, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Google, have not registered as PSE with the Ministry of Communication and Information. They confirmed that they would block private PSEs on July 21, 2022 if they don't register by the July 20, 2022 deadline.
