Still In A Critical Period, The Head Of Health Urges Hajj Pilgrims Not To Be Careless About Their Health Conditions

JAKARTA - Head of the Hajj Health Center, Budi Sylvana, reminded pilgrims not to be careless with their health conditions because currently it is still a critical period.

"We must not be careless, even though the percentage of deaths has decreased considerably, but we still have to be vigilant because the hajj has not yet been completed," Budi said in Mecca, Saturday.

He said the critical period starts from the 22nd day to the 57th day of the Hajj operation.

While the peak critical period occurs in the Arafah, Muzdhalifah and Mina (Armuzna) phases or the 36th day to the 42nd day of the operational period of the Hajj.

The death rate for this year's hajj is indeed much lower than the previous five years.

This year, with a total of 100,051 pilgrims, up to the 43rd day of Hajj operations, 55 pilgrims died.

Meanwhile, in 2015 until the same operational day, 463 pilgrims died. Meanwhile, in 2016, 224 pilgrims died.

Furthermore, the death rate until the 43rd day at 390 in 2017, in 2018 was 206 and 241 in 2019.

Budi further emphasized that the vigilance of health workers should not be reduced even though the peak of the pilgrimage has been completed, so that there will be no recurrence of the pilgrims' disease.
