86 Plantation Companies In Jambi Abstain From Meeting On Land And Forestry Handling With BPBD, Babinsa Deployed For Socialization
JAMBI - The Commander of Korem (Danrem) 042/Gapu Brigadier General Supriono asked the village builder (babinsa) in Jambi Province to help socialize the prevention of forest and land fires (karhutla) to the community and plantation companies.
"I will ask and order all Babinsa to help outreach to the community and companies in an effort to prevent forest and land fires," said Supriono in Jambi, quoted by Antara, Saturday, July 16.
Through the role of babinsa, it will be accepted so that joint prevention efforts to prevent forest and land fires can be carried out before entering the dry season this year.
This step was taken by the Korem because, among other things, dozens of plantation companies in Jambi Province were absent when invited by the Jambi Province Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in a meeting to handle forest and land fires. Of the 120 companies invited, only 34 plantation companies attended.
Danrem 042/Gapu Brigadier General Supriono as Plh of the Jambi Province Karhutla Task Force confirmed that he would check all companies in the province, especially those that did not attend the meeting at Makorem 042/Gapu, a few days ago.
Danrem also mentioned that babinsa and babinkhantibmas (Polri) will be assigned together to visit companies that are not present at the meeting and later they will carry out socialization to companies related to prevention in order to prevent forest and land fires.
In this case, said Danrem, the company must also know and understand how to deal with forest and land fires. "Don't let them be missed, let alone be careless and if later they are missed and for example there is a fire in their area, then this is dangerous and asks them to be able to anticipate well," he said.
Currently, the Karhutla Task Force records that there are already 814 hotspots in Jambi Province.
In addition, the area of land burned to date in Jambi Province has reached 62 hectares. Therefore, Jambi Province has become a concern as a vulnerable area, such as the Berbak area, Sadu District, East Tanjung Jabung Regency, and Londrang, Muaro Jambi Regency.
According to the Danrem, the anticipation of forest and land fires in Jambi Province must be taken seriously, because the impact is very bad and the smoke in Jambi Province must not occur again, as several years ago.
The regional and central governments, he said, were very serious and participated in dealing with forest and land fires. Therefore, companies must also unite in its prevention.
Meanwhile, the Head of Emergency and Logistics at BPBD Jambi Province, Andre, said that only a few companies were present when invited with the title of gathering between the Plh Karhutla Task Force in Jambi Province and forest and land entrepreneurs in Jambi Province in preventing forest and land fires.
"We have sent letters to all companies in Jambi. Some of them also carry out activities outside and are far away, so they cannot attend Jambi and of the hundreds of companies that were invited, only 34 companies attended to fulfill the invitation," he said. .
