Golkar: KIB Will Form A Team To Discuss Presidential Candidate Determination
JAKARTA - The chairman of the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Golkar Party DPD, Emanuel Melkiades Laka Lena, revealed that the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) will soon form a team to discuss the mechanism for determining presidential candidates (candidates) to be carried in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).
"There will be a team that will be assigned by each party general chairman to sit down to formulate these various things. Including how we discuss the mechanism, presenting the vice presidential candidate from KIB," said Melki in a discussion entitled "Map of the Coalition Post-Birth of KIB" in South Jakarta. , Friday, July 15.
Melki explained that Golkar, PAN and PPP have their own mechanism to appoint their champion who will be proposed as a presidential candidate. For example, the Golkar Party through the 2019 National Deliberation and the 2021 National Leadership Meeting has decided General Chairperson Airlangga Hartarto as a presidential candidate in 2024.
"Then from all the results of each party, there will definitely be a time where each party will sit down," said Melki.
The Deputy Chairman of Commission IX of the DPR said that KIB still has plenty of time to discuss the figures who will be promoted as presidential and vice presidential candidates. Currently, the management of KIB members from the elite level to the grassroots has also established good communication, including discussing the concept and the proposed candidate.
"This free time allows us enough time, at the top level to talk about how to build the concept, the idea of power sharing for example, then of course to agree on how we design the vice presidential candidate," said Melki.
Melki claims that KIB is a political breakthrough that is mutually beneficial to the three supporting parties. According to him, the cooperation built by Golkar, PAN and PPP is loose. "KIB is a new way to design a political map towards 2024. If KIB is appreciated positively, because there are indeed many benefits and advantages that we have achieved," he said.
He for example, KIB a blank white paper that must be filled together. Cooperation is more profitable because the three parties have different niches of voters.
"We in each party are both filling out the blank white paper, working together towards the presidential, legislative and regional elections. The niche markets for Golkar, PAN and PPP are not the same," he concluded.
