Coordinating Minister Airlangga: Digital Ready Society Is Absolutely Necessary To Achieving Indonesia's 2045 Vision

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said that the government continues to make various efforts to support a digital-ready society. According to him, this step is realized through the National Digital Literacy program and Indonesia is Getting More Digital.

"The formation of a digital-ready society can be done by encouraging important aspects, namely improving literacy, accessibility, skills, and employment," he said in a written statement today, Friday, July 15.

According to Airlangga, the government is currently aggressively expanding its reach and better quality through the construction of facilities and infrastructure so that connectivity can be connected more evenly and fairly.

"The formation of a digital-ready Indonesian society is an absolute prerequisite to be able to realize the economic and financial benefits of digital," he said.

Airlangga added that the state realized the importance of strengthening cooperation and support from the private sector, especially from Big Tech Firms for the development of digital accessibility in Indonesia.

"The government is trying to develop digital skills by providing scholarships in the field of ICT through the Digital Talent Scholarship program," he said.

Meanwhile, what is currently being carried out is the 2022 Indonesian Digital Financial Economic Festival (FEKDI) which is one of the strategies to increase digitalization in Indonesia.

The activity, which was initiated by Bank Indonesia and the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs along with other stakeholders, was held to become a forum for stakeholders to work together so that the digital financial economy in Indonesia can improve.

This synergy is strengthened by a shared commitment through the launch of the National Digital Economy and Finance Movement.

“To make the digital transformation process a success, community support and readiness is needed. This aims not only to minimize the impact of disruption, but also to be able to optimize the opportunities and benefits of digital technology developments," he said.

"Let us encourage and accelerate digital finance so that the national economic recovery can be accelerated to achieve Indonesia's Vision 2045," concluded Coordinating Minister Airlangga.
