Joint SAR Team Finds The Body Of 87 -Year -Old Grandfather Missing In The Cisokan River In Cianjur
CIANJUR - The joint SAR team of BPBD Cianjur, West Java, found the body of an 87-year-old grandfather who was reported missing and drowned in the Cisokan River, Panyusuhan Village, Sukaluyu District.
Secretary of BPBD Cianjur Rudi Wibowo said the drowning victim on behalf of Mamad Bin Otong (87) was previously reported by the family as missing for two days. Previously, the victim said goodbye to go to the garden on the banks of the Cisokan River.
"Receiving a report from the resident, a joint team consisting of BPBD, Bandung SAR, TNI/Polri assisted by local residents attempted to search by conducting river and riverbank sweeps," he said as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 14.
Entering the third day of the search, officers finally found the body of the victim, who is a resident of Kolelaban Village, Panyusuhan Village, Sukaluyu District, in a lifeless condition.
Officers immediately handed over the victim's body to the family for burial. It is suspected that the victim slipped while gardening and fell into the river, no marks of violence or injuries from sharp or blunt weapons were found on the victim's body.
"The victim's body was immediately brought by the family to be buried near his house. It is suspected that the victim fell while in the fields and fell into the river," he said.
According to information from local residents, they were able to search for victims who were reported by the family that they did not return home after saying goodbye to the fields in the morning. Not finding the whereabouts of the victim, his family and residents reported the matter to the Sukaluyu Police.
"Joint officers and residents conducted a sweeping of the river and riverbanks, but until the second day nothing came of it. On Thursday evening, the joint officers finally managed to find the victim's body, which was already lifeless, floating about 500 meters from the field," said eyewitness Maman Suherman.
