Seriously! Three TNI And One Police Personnel Become Cross-Country Drug Couriers, Hundreds Of Kilograms Successfully Secured

JAKARTA - Three unscrupulous members of the TNI and one member of the National Police were arrested by the National Narcotics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BNN RI) for being involved in narcotics trafficking.

Deputy for Eradication of BNN RI, Inspector General Kenedy explained, the arrests of three members of the TNI were carried out in the Pesanggrahan area, South Jakarta on Tuesday, July 5. The three members of the TNI with the initials MS, BH and J.

They were arrested along with a civilian with the initials L as the head of the expedition warehouse.

"The four of them were seen in the circulation of marijuana-type narcotics across the Aceh-Jakarta provinces, which were controlled by the Khairul Aceh network," said Inspector General Kenedy to reporters, Thursday, July 14.

From the hands of the four suspects, officers confiscated evidence of narcotics, a type of dried marijuana ready to be distributed in large quantities.

"The confiscated narcotics evidence was 61.10 kilograms of marijuana which was packaged into 67 plastic wrappers and stored in three large boxes," he said.

The arrest of individual members of the TNI was carried out based on the information obtained, then an investigation was carried out.

"After an investigation was carried out, of the 4 suspects with evidence of marijuana, it turned out that there were 3 TNI personnel together in one car. One person was the driver. After the interrogation, we coordinated with Pomdam Jaya. TNI personnel were handed over to Pomdam Jaya," he said.

Furthermore, in a separate disclosure case, BNN RI again arrested a member of the National Police with the initials E and a civilian with the initials Y. Both were arrested at a hotel in Dumai, Riau with different locations.

"The suspect with the initials E (a police officer) was arrested in the car he parked in the hotel yard. The evidence seized was 52.90 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine wrapped in green Chinese tea packaging. And put it in a cardboard box containing rambutan," he said.

From the statement of suspect E, then BNN RI officers arrested a suspected civilian with the initials Y in one of the hotel rooms. Y as the person who ordered E to take and receive the methamphetamine.

"This suspect has a PALAI international syndicate network, this was sent from the Pelek river in Selangor, Malaysia, to the Dumai seaport. The plan is to take him to Pekanbaru, Riau. Both are couriers. Still investigating, for the next network development," he explained.

Furthermore, Inspector General Kenedy ensured that the narcotics trafficking case with a different network involved three members of the TNI and one member of the National Police.

"So there are three military personnel and 1 police officer involved in the distribution of narcotics from two different cases," he continued.

In addition, BNN RI also arrested 9 other narcotics trafficking cases with a total number of 22 suspects. They were charged with multi-layered articles related to the Narcotics Law No. 35 of 2009 with a maximum penalty of death or imprisonment.
