Bogor City Education Office Plans To Extend PTM 50 Percent One Month
BOGOR - Bogor City Education Office, West Java, plans to extend face-to-face learning (PTM) with a capacity of 50 percent of students in all elementary schools (SD) and junior high schools (SMP) for one month in the new academic year 2022-2023.
Head of the Bogor City Education Office, Hanafi, said the plan to extend the PTM with a capacity of 50 percent of students following the increase in the number of positive COVID-19 cases in his area.
"We have communicated with the Ministry of Religion and other agencies, all that remains is to report to the leadership, the Mayor of Bogor," Hanafi said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 12.
According to him, the plan to extend the PTM with a capacity of 50 percent for one month has gone through several analyzes. First, in the new school year, students and grade 1 elementary school students start from an average age of 7 years, so they are worried that it is not easy to control them to obey health protocols.
At that age, some students at the beginning of school are still often accompanied by their parents or guardians.
Furthermore, secondly, students who have just entered the 7th grade junior high school (SMP) level have long been accustomed to distance learning (PJJ) so that within a month, there will be an evaluation of student adaptation at school to the health protocol rules.
The PTM policy plan with a capacity of 50 percent also applies to students and students of all levels. In addition to being an example for new students, prevention of the spread of COVID-19 must be intensified along with the increase in positive cases, starting from mid-June to mid-July 2022.
"What we communicate to all levels. Especially in this unstable situation. Yesterday we had PPKM level 2, back to PPKM level 1. In the middle, we tighten the process and capacity again," he explained.
According to data from the Bogor City Health Office, as of Tuesday (12/7), the number of positive cases of COVID-19 jumped from an average of over 20 people per day to 77 people. Of these, 37 have recovered and 40 are still sick.
Previously, the Bogor City Health Office (Dinkes) noted that graphic data on positive COVID-19 cases continued to increase from mid-June 2022 to early July 2022, from below five people per day to above 20 per day.
Secretary of the Health Office Erna Nuraena when confirmed in Bogor City, Wednesday (6/7) stated that with the increase in positive cases of COVID-19, the local COVID-19 Task Force will again intensify compliance with health protocols (prokes), conduct tests and trace people who are exposed and pursue vaccination targets.
