Jokowi Asks For Legal Process On The Shooting Case At Inspector General Ferdy Sambo's Shelter
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has asked for a legal process to be carried out regarding the shooting exchange between members of the National Police that occurred at the shelter for the Head of the Propam Police Division, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo, in the South Jakarta area.
"Yes, the legal process must be carried out," said the President briefly on the sidelines of his working visit in Subang, West Java, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, July 12.
During the shootout, Inspector General Sambo's aide, Bharada E, died at the hands of Brigadier J, who was the driver of Inspector General Sambo's wife. The incident occurred in the Duren Tiga area, South Jakarta, on Friday, July 8 afternoon.
According to the Karopenmas of the National Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Pol Ahmad Ramadhan, the incident occurred on Friday, July 8, 2022, at approximately 17.00 WIB.
The shooting took place between Brigadier J who served in the National Police Propam, and a member with the initials Bharada E who was also at the official residence.
According to Ahmad Ramadhan, the incident was motivated by the harassment experienced by the wife of the Head of the Propam Police Division, Inspector General of Police. Ferdy Sambo.
"What is clear is that Brigadier J was right to abuse and pointed a gun at the head of the Propam Head's wife," said Ahmad Ramadhan.
South Jakarta Police Chief Kombes Budhi Herdi Susianto said, currently Bharada E's status as a witness. According to Budhi, investigators have not found any evidence that supports Bharada E's status as a suspect.
"We need to convey that the person concerned is a witness because so far we have not found any supporting evidence to increase his status as a suspect," said Budhi during a press conference at the South Jakarta Police Headquarters, Tuesday, July 12.
