Zelensky Phone PM Boris Johnson: Ukraine Reports Of Resignation Sad
JAKARTA - Boris Johnson is one of the leaders who are all out of favor of Ukraine against Russia. Johnson's resignation from a British PM who is just waiting for a clear time to hit Ukraine.
PM Johnson stepped down as leader of the Conservative Party. Indeed, he will continue to serve as prime minister until his successor is elected, following an avalanche of resignations in his cabinet eroding his authority and crippling the British government.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Thursday, July 7, immediately called Boris Johnson. Zelensky expressed his sadness.
"We all welcome this news with sadness. Not only me, but also all Ukrainian people who sympathize with you very much," Zelensky said, as quoted from the presidential office and reported by Channel News Asia.
Zelensky also stressed how grateful the Ukrainians are for the British prime minister's support since the Russian invasion.
A Johnson spokesman said he promised Zelensky that he would continue working with partners to end the wheat blockade in the coming weeks.
"President Zelensky thanked the Prime Minister for taking firm action in Ukraine, and said the Ukrainian people were grateful for Britain's efforts," the spokesman said after a telephone conversation between the two.
"The Prime Minister ended the phone praising President Zelenskyy, saying: 'You are a hero, everyone loves you'."
