Lili Pintauli Not Attending The Ethics Session Due To ACWG Being In The Spotlight, Firli And Friends Must Be Reprimanded
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Lili Pintauli Siregar is in the spotlight because she was not present at the ethics trial regarding the alleged receipt of accommodation and tickets for the Mandalika MotoGP. His absence is because he is on duty at the 2022 Anti Corruption Working Group (ACWG) in Nusa Dua, Bali.
Regarding Lili's absence at the ethics session, Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) assessed that the Deputy Chairperson of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Lili Pintauli Siregar did not respect the KPK Supervisory Board.
Not only that, he was considered to have bad intentions because he was not present at the ethics hearing related to the alleged receipt of accommodation and Mandalika MotoGP tickets from PT Pertamina (Persero). Moreover, his presence at the event should have been represented by other leaders.
"ICW considers that the absence of sister Lili Pintauli from the initial trial of the alleged violation of the code of ethics at the KPK Supervisory Board shows the bad faith of the person concerned and the attitude of not respecting the institutions of the KPK Supervisory Board," Kurnia said in a written statement received by VOI, Wednesday, July 6.
Not only Lili, KPK Chair Firli Bahuri was also considered to have no respect for the trial. Because, Kurnia assessed, Lili's departure to the ACWG event was based on the approval of the former Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK.
"Brother Firli occupies the highest position in the anti-corruption agency and is most likely the party that approved of Sister Lili attending the forum in Bali. This indicates that she also does not consider the Supervisory Board institutional as an important entity in the KPK," he said.
So, ICW considered, the KPK Supervisory Board should give a warning to the leaders. The goal is that the anti-corruption commission leaders, including Firli Bahuri, don't try to hinder the ethics trial process that Lili has to undergo.
"ICW recommends that the Supervisory Board strongly rebuke the KPK leadership so that they can be cooperative and not try to hinder the process of the code of ethics trial," said Kurnia.
Meanwhile, the Coordinator of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) Boyamin Saiman hopes that Lili will attend the ethics trial on Monday, July 11. It is hoped that he will not delay his resignation so that it can be processed immediately.
"We are really waiting for Mrs. Lili to be present at the trial on July 11," said Boyamin to reporters, Wednesday, July 6.
Boyamin considered that official affairs were the reason Lili did not attend the ethics trial. However, he hopes that the trial can be held in the midst of the issue of Lili's resignation from her position.
"We hope that Mrs. Lili is really present on Monday and does not delay because of the resignation issue," he said.
In addition to attending, Boyamin also asked Lili to provide correct information to the KPK Council regarding the receipt of the ticket. Don't let him lie, like when he admitted that he had never communicated with the litigants, namely the former Mayor of Tanjungbalai M. Syahrial.
Not only that, the KPK Supervisory Board is expected to be firm in carrying out its duties. All documents and information that have been provided by related parties, including PT Pertamina (Persero) are expected to be clarified to Lili.
"We hope that in the future Mrs. Lili will give a clear and detailed statement, not like in the past who were considered to be lying both at the trial and conveying statements to the mass media before and after the trial," he said.
"All existing documents can later be dug up properly that the alleged violation of Mrs. Lili's ethics can be proven and found guilty with stricter sanctions, namely dismissal in the context of being asked to resign," continued Boyamin.
Regarding Lili's absence, the KPK confirmed that Lili's assignment in the international arena had been planned since the beginning of the year. The leaders of the anti-corruption commission served as keynote speakers and resource persons.
"This agenda has been scheduled since the beginning of the year, when Indonesia began holding the G20 Presidency in 2022, which of course also involves various stakeholders both regionally, nationally and internationally," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Affairs Ali Fikri told reporters, Wednesday, July 6.
The KPK, continued Ali, realized that the eradication of corruption could not be faced alone. Therefore, they are concentrating on the ACWG event which is attended by delegates from 20 G20 participating countries.
"KPK realizes the urgency of this meeting, given that corruption is one of the global problems that hinders a country's national economic growth," he said.
"As Chair of the ACWG in the G20 Presidency in 2022, it is an opportunity for the KPK to make an optimal contribution to eradicating corruption at the national and global levels," Ali continued.
For information, Lili was again reported to the KPK Council for allegedly receiving hotel accommodation facilities to tickets to watch the 2022 MotoGP race at the Mandalika International Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), from PT Pertamina (Persero).
In dealing with the alleged receipt, the KPK Supervisory Board has collected materials and information from related parties, including the state-owned company. President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati has also been examined some time ago and provided additional information in writing.
Not only that, the KPK Council has also asked related parties to bring proof of booking accommodation at Amber Lombok Beach Resort and Mandalika MotoGP tickets at the Grandstand Premium Zone A-Red.
