Celebrate US Independence Day July 4th, Scores Of Citizens Died Due To Fireworks Accidents In Several States
JAKARTA - Relighting a fire is one of the favorite things for Americans, during the celebration of United States Independence Day which falls every July 4th.
However, not a few people are victims of 'playing' with fireworks, including the most recent one during the celebration of the 246th Anniversary of US Independence. Reporting Newsweek July 5, sjeumlah people died as a result of fireworks accidents in various states.
In Montebello, California, police responded to a call about a fireworks accident at around 6:30 p.m. local time on Monday evening, according to ABC 7 News.
Once on scene at a house on the 1400 block of Germain Drive, officers found a man lying in the front yard, unresponsive and breathing. It was later discovered that the man used illegal fireworks, which resulted in the accident.
Officers attempted to provide life-saving techniques, until paramedics arrived to take him to a nearby hospital. Despite those efforts, the man was eventually declared dead by hospital staff. Details about the victim, such as his name and age, have not been disclosed to the public.
An investigation into his death is now being handled by the detective bureau of the Montebello Police Department and the Los Angeles County coroner's office. Montebello is located in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, south of Pasadena.
On Sunday, 11-year-old Camrynn Ray McMichael from Mount Vernon, Indiana, died after sustaining severe injuries during a "fireworks incident," police told the Evansville Courier & Press.
Police arrived at the boy's house at around 9:44 p.m. ET. He was eventually declared dead when he was taken to the hospital. The exact nature of McMichael's injury has not been reported at press time. His mother, Kyrra McMichael, told Courier & Press the incident occurred while the boy was playing with fireworks.
"He was every parent's dream of a boy. And because boys are boys, they played with fireworks (and) he was gone. In the blink of an eye. Literally," Kyrra McMichael wrote in a message on Twitter. social media. "
Elsewhere in the state, a Fort Wayne man was seriously injured and eventually died on Sunday night, while running a fireworks display for his neighborhood.
Neighbors told WANE 15 News the man had been doing this every year for several years. A local nurse, Gail Rosner, attempted to perform CPR on the man after witnessing the incident.
Separately in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, police responded to an incident involving fireworks at about 1:30 a.m. local time on Monday, the Associated Press reported.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers found an 18-year-old man who suffered serious injuries to his face, after several fireworks exploded near his head. A friend attempted to perform CPR at the scene, but the man was pronounced dead that night in hospital.
