Bribery Rahmat Effendi Sent To Sukamiskin Rutan
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) executed four bribes from the inactive Bekasi Mayor Rahmat Effendi to the Sukamiskin Class 1 Prison, Bandung, West Java. One of them is the private sector, Lai Bui Min.
The execution was carried out on Monday, July 4 yesterday. This was done after the decision of the Bandung Corruption Court had permanent legal force.
"KPK's executor prosecutor Eva Yustiana has finished executing the convict Lai Bui Min et al as bribing the Bekasi mayor," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Affairs Ali Fikri told reporters, Wednesday, June 6.
Lai Bui Min will later serve a sentence of two years. In addition, he is also required to pay a fine of Rp. 200 million.
"(Executed, ed) by entering the Sukamiskin Prison in Bandung to serve a prison sentence," said Ali.
Apart from Lai Bui Min, three other bribers who were also sent to Sukamiskin Prison are PT ME Director Ali Amril; Director of PT KBR Suryadi Mulya; and the sub-district head of Rawalumbu Makhfud Saifudin.
In the trial at the Bandung Corruption Eradication Commission, Lai Bui Min was proven to have bribed Rahmat Effendi and the Head of the Bekasi Settlement and Land Office (Kadis Perkimtan) Jumhana Luthfi Amin. The amount of money given reached Rp. 4.1 billion.
The bribe was given so that the Bekasi City Government bought his land for the land acquisition project.
The purchase of this land was carried out for the construction of Polder Air 202 by the Bekasi City Government.
Lai Bui Min's impudent practices were exposed when the KPK carried out a hand arrest operation (OTT) that ensnared Rahmat Effendi. The prosecution team at that time also confiscated Rp5 billion, consisting of Rp3 billion in banknotes and Rp2 billion in a savings book.
