Merchants Reject The Increase In Service Charge At PG Solo, Gibran Takes Wise Steps To Find An Agreement On Price

SOLO - Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka mediates the management of the Solo Wholesale Center (PGS) with traders as tenants regarding the planned increase in kiosk service fees.

"This is not finished, there is no agreement. I ask PGS not to seal it," said Gibran when he visited the PGS Management Office in Solo, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, July 5.

On the other hand, he also asked the traders who act as kiosk tenants to understand the plan to increase the service fee.

"I told the merchants, it is impossible for the service charge to not increase. Please discuss the amount so that it will be mediated by the Sekdin (Secretary of the Solo City Trade Service)," he said.

Gibran confirmed that in relation to this situation he did not want to defend anyone.

"I'm in the middle, not defending anyone. This is a good place so it must be escorted. Just wait what kind of discussion," he said.

Meanwhile, PGS Merchant Field Coordinator Cahyo Sasongko said so far the mediation process has not yielded any results.

"However, the guardian has conveyed a very good appeal. We will discuss in more detail the exact negotiations regarding the agreed nominal price," he said.

Regarding the increase in the cost of servicing the kiosk, he said, the management of PGS intends to increase the amount from Rp. 57,000 per m2 to Rp. 80,000 per m2. If merchants don't pay immediately, PGS management threatens to seal tenant kiosks.

"Yes, we refuse, we fight for the old price. We only realize that the building owner is having difficulties, we are also struggling, we are trying to get up after the pandemic. We both get up, but if it goes up, it's a reasonable limit, if I go up, it's a reasonable limit. The hope is that there will be good synergy between building owners or management and traders," he said.
