The Musi Banyuasin PUPR Service Project Bribery Case, Dodi Reza Alex's Son Alex Noerdin Sentenced To 6 Years In Prison
PALEMBANG - The panel of judges at the Palembang District Court sentenced Dodi Reza Alex to 6 years in prison for the alleged bribery case in the construction of four projects at the PUPR Service of Musi Banyuasin Regency in 2021.
The verdict against the former Regent of Musi Banyuasin was read by presiding judge Yoserizal in the main room of the Palembang District Court, South Sumatra (Sumsel), Tuesday, July 5 afternoon.
"To try the defendant Dodi Reza Alex, he was sentenced to 6 years in prison, a fine of Rp. 250 million, a subsidiary of 5 months in prison," said Yoserizal.
In addition, the panel of judges also sentenced the defendant Dodi to be obliged to pay a replacement money of Rp1.16 billion.
The payment of the replacement money must be completed within 1 month, which if it is not sufficient, the property belonging to the defendant is confiscated to be auctioned off, or replaced with an additional 1 year imprisonment.
According to the judge, the verdict was given based on the legal facts obtained in the trial.
The defendant, who is the son of the former Governor of South Sumatra Alex Noerdin, was legally and convincingly proven to have committed a criminal act of corruption together and continues as the first indictment of the public prosecutor.
The demands are as referred to in Article 12 letter (a) of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
"I hereby order the defendant Dodi Reza Alex to remain in custody," said the judge, according to Antara.
Meanwhile, the defendant Dodi Reza, who listened to the verdict online from the KPK's Red and White Building, Jakarta, stated that he was thinking about the verdict of the panel of judges.
