Eid Al-Adha Is Almost Here, Know The Intentions Of Fasting Dzulhijjah, Tarwiyah, And Arafah And Their Virtues
JAKARTA - Entering the month of Dzulhijjah, Muslims are encouraged to carry out additional sunnah fasting in addition to fasting Monday and Thursday. This sunnah fast is carried out for 9 days before Eid al-Adha (10 Dzulhijjah). This fast includes the fast of Dzulhijjah, the fast of Tarwiyah, and the fast of Arafah. Fasting Dzulhijjah is fasting between the day of Arafah and the day of Eid. These fasts have the virtue of removing sins for those who do them.
As explained by Imam An-Nawawi in Al-Adzkar, in the early ten days of Dzulhijjah, people are encouraged to multiply sunnah worship such as fasting and remembrance.
"Know that it is sunnah to multiply dhikr on the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah than on other days. And it is sunnah to multiply dhikr on the day of Arafah."

Freed from the torments of hell
The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: "There is no day on which Allah frees slaves from hell more than the Day of Arafah and indeed He draws near and boasts to them in front of the Angels and says: 'What do they want?' (HR Muslim).
