Agreeing Peace With Victim's Family, Dead Bus Driver In Bali Immediately Released By Police
TABANAN - Tabanan Police, Bali, will release the bus driver from the deadly crash with the initials SA (38) that occurred in Banjar Pacung, Baturiti District, Tabanan, Bali.
This was done because there was a peace agreement between the families of the victims who died and the bus company. In addition, there is a peace agreement with the victims of minor and serious injuries, including foreign nationals (WNA) and also with the victims who suffered car damage.
"Yes (the driver will be released) and the investigation process will be stopped. Because there is peace and there is compensation for the victims. And compensation will be given," said Tabanan Police Chief AKBP Ranefli Dian Candra, Monday, July 4.
In addition, the bus company is also responsible for the victims who died. Starting from the burial, it also includes financing or paying for the school fees of the victim's child who died.
"The families of the victims who died apologized and the victims whose cars (hit a collision) asked for the case to be resolved quickly," continued AKBP Ranefli.
According to him, the company and the victims had a meeting and agreed to make peace.
In addition, for vehicle damage due to an accident, almost Rp. 400 million has been compensated for. The SA driver who has been named a suspect will be released with restorative justice.
"We are still completing the administration (SA to be free). So we take this route with restorative justice. We carry the spirit of restorative justice which was initiated by the National Police Chief," he said.
It was previously reported that AS (38), a deadly bus driver who had a fatal accident in Banjar Pacung, Baturiti, Tabanan, Bali, was named a suspect.
"The suspect has been determined, namely the driver," said Tabanan Police Traffic Head AKP Kanisius Franata, Monday, June 20.
Meanwhile, BAF, the bus backup driver has the status of a witness. According to AKP Kanisius, the police will investigate the owner of the bus company.
"Later, the vehicle owner (or) the company will be examined. Later, we will check (the cause) with an expert," he said.
As a result of the deadly accident on a tourist bus in Tabanan, one person died, 8 others were injured. Most have been discharged from the hospital.
