Bad Weather, Tourist Boats In Labuan Bajo Are Asked By BPBD To Be Prohibited From Sailing
KUPANG - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT_ asked the port authorities in Labuan Bajo, Manggarai Regency not to allow tourist boats to sail to transport tourists during bad weather to anticipate sea accidents.
"We have asked the West Manggarai BPBD to coordinate with the Labuan Bajo port authority so as not to allow tourist ships to sail during bad weather like today," said the Head of the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Ambrose Kodo, as quoted by Antara. Between, Monday, July 4th.
He explained that tourist boat accidents had occurred several times in the Komodo waters when the area experienced bad weather.
If bad weather occurs, it is better not to allow tourist ships to cruise because it is very risky to sail in bad weather conditions.
"We want tourists to travel safely. If the weather is bad, don't force yourself to sail to tourist sites in the tourist area of Komodo Island," said Ambrose Kodo.
The firmness of the relevant parties in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency is needed by not giving permission to ships sailing during bad weather so as to minimize cases of sea accidents that befall tourists.
He hopes that the supervision of the activities of tourist boats carrying tourists in Labuan Bajo will be tightened.
Last week there were two marine accidents in the waters of Komodo, one ship which crashed in the waters of Kambing Island, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province, Thursday (30/6) night.
