Former Village Head In Tangerang Becomes A Fugitive In The Official Car Corruption Case

TANGERANG - The District Attorney for Tangerang, Banten, stated that Sutisna, the former Head of Bonisari Village, Pakuhaji District, is currently on the wanted list (DPO) related to a corruption case in the procurement of village operational cars in 2018.

"We have issued a national DPO to the person concerned. This is because the person concerned did not heed the prosecutor's steps persuasively," said Head of the Tangerang District Attorney's Office, Nova Elida Saragih, quoted by Antara, Friday, July 1.

He said Sutisna, who had been named a suspect since June 9, 2022 in the corruption case in the procurement of the village operational car, had now been raised to his status as a national fugitive.

"Because he did not heed any summons as a suspect from investigators. In fact, when he was visited by his first wife, second wife, and the residence of her parents, Sutisna disappeared," he said.

In this case, Nova said, the Tangerang District Attorney's Office has named five suspects, with the initials SA, who is a former member of the Tangerang Regency DPRD, SN, former Head of Pasir Gintung Village, M, former Head of Gaga Village, DM, former Head of Buaran Mangga Village, and former Head of Bonisari STN or Sutisna Village.

Of the four former village heads who have also been named as suspects, it is known that they have given money of Rp. 789 million to the suspect SA for the purchase of a car. However, the money was not given to the car showroom owner.

"Procurement of goods and services in the form of village operational cars in the four villages is problematic. Money from the village treasury is not paid to the car showroom," he explained.

The state also suffered losses estimated at Rp600 million due to corruption by the four former village heads.

"We suspect the article of corruption," he said.
